Shetland Pony Club closes in winter. There are just two more weekends riding left and the ponies are fully booked. As they are so popular, many people have asked us why we close in the winter.
Find out why we close
There are lots of good reasons why we close – can you think of any?
The weather can be cold, wet, frosty or snowy and the days are short. The ponies are fine living outside in the winter as they grow really fluffy coats to keep out the weather.
Those fluffy coats mean that their saddles can be hard to fit over all that hair.
