Shetland Pony Club on Channel 4
Shetland Pony Club featured on Channel 4’s Weekend Brunch Programme with Denise Van Outen, which was aired live ahead of the grand National. The ponies were fantastic, having to go up in a service lift to the Channel 4 Studios and wait patiently for their time in the spotlight.

Reasons to Love Cobham – Surrey Life
One for the children here. Everybody loves a Shetland pony and you can almost hear the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ when you see the pictures on the website… The Shetland Pony Club offers an introduction to kids as young as two and a half to the thrill of pony riding in private woods and meadows with no less than 17 of the tiny steeds waiting for you. This month, from August 7 to August 10 and other dates, you can even book a summer Pony Camp, where your horse-mad offspring can enjoy ‘pony-packed days of fun…’

New Shetland pony breed summary for Horsemart
We recently worked with Horsemart to check this great article all about Shetland ponies.
As its name suggests, the Shetland pony originates from the Shetland Islands and is one of two native pony breeds that are of Scottish origin, the other being the Highland Pony. As the smallest of the nine native pony breeds found in Britain, it also lays claim to originating from the harshest of environments, which some believe to have played a part in preventing the pony to thrive, thus its small size. However, raising ponies in more hospitable regions has not resulted in any significant fluctuation of height or size. The more likely theory suggests that larger sized ponies could not survive the harsh conditions, hence their favourable size and the remoteness of the islands offered minimal breeding influences anywa

Shetland Pony Club – have your own pony for the day
If you’re looking for something to do at the weekend with the children that’s in the country, but close to London, then Shetland Pony Club could provide the answer. The children get their own pony to ride around the estate with their helper. It’s well worth the trip, time away from screens and an enjoyable day out for all the family. It’s a perfect photo opportunity too.
Shetland Pony Club has a great story behind it too, the founders; mother and daughter, used to do the school run on their own Shetland pony! Imagine that instead of skooting to school! There is a book to buy at the end of the day that tells the story and makes great bedtime reading. For the football crazy, you also drive past the Chelsea training grounds in Cobham to get there.

Pony Mad
Last weekend was Winty’s first pony riding experience and we couldn’t of picked a better place to go.
The Shetland Pony Club located in Cobham, Surrey and home to the most stylish pony ranch I’ve ever seen.
You are welcomed by a host all dressed in tweed and your little person is then introduced to their steed, Winter rode Honeybee. They get a little grooming time, then select their saddles (pink of course!) and help get the ponies all tacked up. Then off they are led around a big field for about 30mins which for little legs round a rather tubby pony is just sufficient. Returning back to the ranch the children untack their ponies and give them little pails of water. Before getting to have a biscuit and drink, then onto certificate giving on top of podium esque tree stumps. Each child is given a certificate and a picture of the pony they rode to keep.
It was a really sweet day in such gorgeous surroundings, highly recommended and for the older children they offer own a pony mornings and pony parties.
