You may have heard people talk about “the points of the horse”. What does this mean?

“Points” are the official names for each part of the horses’ body. It can get a little complicated, so in this series of videos we will explain the names of the points of the horse that it is helpful to know.

In this week’s beginner’s guide you can find out where about these points of the horse. You can learn:

  • Where is the forelock and the poll?
  • Where are the withers and why are they important?
  • What is the dock and the croup?
