Starter Ride at Shetland Pony Club

Here’s what happens on a Starter Ride:

Children get to meet and greet the ponies, brush them, help to tack them up with a one to one helper and lead them. When they are really comfortable with the pony we sit them on and they have a 20-minute lead rein ride around our meadows. When they return they help to put the pony away and look after him. Starter rides are really special and children are given a pony certificate to remember their morning by.

    Monday 30 May  – Wednesday 1 June 2022

    • 11am – 1pm
    • 2.15pm – 4.15pm

Here’s what happens on an Own a Pony Experience:

Children meet and greet the ponies with a helper and learn to brush them. Then it’s time to help tack them up and learn to lead the ponies. Next, they enjoy an easy ride in our meadows with a leader that is confidence-boosting and fun. After a break, it’s time to enjoy some pony learning such as tack cleaning or clearing up the paddock (which they love!). Own a Pony Experiences are a really special all-around pony experience and children are presented with a rosette to take home at the end.
