People often ask what happens to our ponies in the winter months when we are closed. In this week’s video we find out where the ponies live and what they feed on during the winter months.
Do the Shetland Ponies live in a stable?
Our Shetland Ponies live in fields with lots of natural shelter including trees, brambles, bushes and hills. When it’s really windy they can use the natural landscape to shelter from the bad weather.
Shetland Ponies have a two layer coat to keep them furry and warm in winter.
Food and friends!
We make sure the ponies have plenty of hay to keep their tummies full and clean water to drink. With friends to keep them company, the ponies have a great holiday over the winter.
