Paddington
Paddington came to Shetland Pony Club, from a lovely local farm, in the spring of 2025. Aged 14 years old he is an kind Shetland pony who is a delightful ride for smaller children. He is good at being led and likes to be brushed.

Age: 14 years old
Size: Mini – 33 inches
Colour: Bay with two white socks
Size: ponies and horses are measured in hands (the width of a grown-up’s hand is about 4 inches). He is 8 hands 1 inch (8,1hh), making him one of the smaller for Shetland ponies – also called a mini Shetland. Paddington is a similar size to Marmite, Bilbo and Snowdrop.
Name: he is called Paddington after the character Paddington Bear, who is small and brave. Paddington Bear is a much-loved children’s character invented in books by Michael Bond. He was discovered in London Paddington station by the Brown family, he was adopted and named “Paddington Brown”.
Breeding: he has very good breeding, with his parents and grandparents being well-bred Shetland ponies from the Wenlock Stud. His official name is Wotknotts Joe.
Experience: he is well-trained and loves children and he enjoys being brushed and ridden.
Riding: our lovely pony is ideal for children aged 3-6 and is used for: Starter Rides, Pony Share Members, Own a Pony Experiences and Pony Parties

Paddington is a friendly pony. He is inquisitive and kind and loves to meet children at Shetland Pony Club.
