We are excited to be able to offer this scheme to young people and to create a pathway for their future career development. Over the years at Shetland Pony Club we are proud have helped many young people to careers with horses and the veterinary profession.
The scheme is approved by the Association of British Riding Schools for young people aged 10 to 16 years to learn equestrian and life skills and to help young people start a career with horses.The cost is £150 pcm payable on direct debit from March to end of November.
Do you dream of a life with horses? If so, our Pony Crew Scheme could be for you. Gain equestrian skills and work experience on our Crew Scheme at Shetland Pony Club. Learn to care for and lead our adorable Shetland ponies every week. Acquire new skills and make new friends, and you will be one step closer to fulfilling your equine ambitions.
Who can join the Pony Crew Scheme?
Ideal for horse lovers aged 10 – 16 years old
One half a day session per week on: Saturdays 8:30am – 1:00pm
Price per person: £150 per month, payable by direct debit.

How to Join Pony Crew Scheme

You can join the Pony Crew in 3 simple steps
- Apply: Write a letter to Rosemary Miller info@shetlandponyclub.co.uk explaining your interest in horses, working with children, and why you’d be a good fit for our Pony Crew Scheme.
- Trial: If your application is successful, you’ll receive a link to book a one-off Trial Session (£35) to ensure it’s a good fit for you.
- Join: If accepted, you can join our Pony Crew Scheme for the season (Price per person: £150 per month, payable by direct debit). Agree on your weekly time slot, and make all your pony dreams come true! We provide uniform.
