Come on a perfect Pony Picnic this summer. Enjoy a summer stroll with a Shetland Pony followed by a delicious cream tea picnic at our charming picnic spots. Learn about the ponies and our wildflower nature projects at Shetland Pony Club. This is a non-ridden activity.
Come and experience your perfect afternoon with a Shetland Pony and a Picnic with friends. Meet your adorable Shetland pony. Learn about him and how to lead him. Pack up his pony basket panniers and enjoy a summer stroll along our pony paths with our knowledgeable pony picnic hostesses. Experience nature first-hand, walking with your perfect pony partner. in the beautiful countryside with far reaching views. Round off your summer saunter at our private rustic picnic pitches and enjoy a traditional cream tea in a stylish picnic spot. Your pony can relax alongside your picnic patch making for fun photographs. Suitable for all the family and for couples and dates and we have even had a proposal on our pony picnics.

Picnic Pitches
Our picnic pitches have been especially created with a mix of rustic charm and equine style. Each pitch has benches cushions and rugs as well as wicker hampers filled with your picnic . The ponies will rest nearby whilst you eat making for lovely photos.
Booking Information
Two hours includes a Shetland Pony walk with a pony picnic hostess, and a cream tea in a stylish picnic spot. You will be leading your Shetland pony with the help of your hostess. The ponies are well trained and it is simple to do for adults and children. Please note there is no pony riding on picnics.
- £130 (Including 20%VAT) – base price for 1 person and 1 pony
- £65 (Including 20%VAT) – per extra person
- Children under 3 years old go free
Good to know
- Pony Picnic basket includes snacks crisps and popcorn and at the picnic pitch there is a traditional cream tea of scones, jam clotted cream and brownies waiting for you.
- There is tea, coffee, sparkling elderflower or lemonade and sparkling water
- We include a bottle of zero alcohol Prosecco for fun.
- Soft drinks cartons and crisps for children
- Please notify us of any allergies when you book.
- All ponies are led – there is no riding on Shetland Pony Picnics
- Children will share a pony with their grown-ups
- Our trail may not be suitable for people who find walking difficult due to the rough ground in the meadows. If you would like to include a guest who finds walking a challenge we can arrange a short cut for them to the picnic site. Please just put your access needs in the notes when booking, or call the office on 07734 950 309 and we would be happy to advise. We have an easy access wheelchair friendly toilet and you can drive close to The Ranch.
