Shadow, arrived at Shetland Pony Club in 2024. He is a middle-aged pony who is 12 years old. He had a loving home with lots of children who rode him, before coming to The Ranch.

Shadow is a very unusual colour for a Shetland Pony. His colour is called “Iron Grey” or “Rocking Horse Grey”. Many ponies who are grey when they are young gradually become white as they age, but Shadow has kept his beautiful grey colour. He also has “dapples,” which are lovely circles of colour that show up really well in the summer months.

Size: ponies and horses are measured in hands (the width of a grown-up’s hand is about 4 inches). He is 38 inches or 9 hands and 2 inches high (9.2hh), making him one of our middle-sized Shetland ponies – also called a Standard Shetland.

Name: He is called Shadow because of his lovely grey colour.

Experience: Shadow is well-trained and is suitable for beginners to ride. He loves children and he enjoys being brushed and ridden.

Riding: our lovely pony will be used for Pony Share Members,  Own a Pony Experiences and Pony Parties

Personality

Shadow is kind and a fun-loving pony in the field.  He is energetic and has made friends with Creme Brulee at Shetland Pony Club.
