Simba came to Shetland Pony Club in 2020. He lived in the west country before coming to The Ranch.

Simba is a pure chestnut colour, with a chestnut mane and tail.  He is a slightly different colour from Creme Brulee who has a flaxen mane and tail and Toffee, whose mane is grey.

Simba is our miniature chestnut Shetland pony and Mufasa is our standard chestnut Shetland pony.

Age: 13 years old
Size: Miniature 35 inches
Colour: Pure chestnut

Size: ponies and horses are measured in hands (the width of a grown-up’s hand is about 4 inches). He is 8 hands and 3 inches high (8.3hh), making him the average size for a Shetland pony – also called a miniature Shetland.

Name: he is called Simba because he has a gorgeous lion-like mane, like Simba from The Lion King.

Experience: he is well trained and loves children and he enjoys being brushed and ridden. He is experienced at Pony Parties, and Pony Walking.

Riding: our lovely pony will be used for Starter Rides, Own a Pony Experiences and Pony Parties

Personality

Simba is a very happy pony.  He is confident, perky and friendly and has made good friends with the other ponies at Shetland Pony Club.
