How to make a Pony Finger Puppet

This week, Lucy and Amy are bringing you another “Crafty Shetland Pony” idea, pony finger puppets.  You can make them at home with simple craft materials you already have, and enjoy decorating and playing with them.

If you are enjoying our Crafty Shetland Pony video series, we are excited to let you know that our new Shetland Pony Club Online website is now live. It’s packed with lots of pony fun and learning for you to enjoy. You can sign up here for free now.

Ranch closure and bookings rescheduling information

The Ranch remains closed until further notice because of the coronavirus pandemic.

  • All paid bookings for March to May have been issued with a voucher code to enable you to rebook at a future date to suit you. You can rebook here.
  • All paid bookings from June onwards – should it become apparent that we are not going to reopen from June, all paid bookings will be issued with a voucher code in due course, to enable you to rebook at a future date to suit you.
  • Gift Vouchers – expiry dates will be extended if you are unable to use them within the current expiry period.
  • Pony Share Membership is on hold and members have been notified of this.
  • Refunds – we hope that you will support the ponies, if you are able to, by accepting a voucher code to ride in the future.  Should you require a refund instead, please email us and we will organise this for you.

New Shetland Pony Club Online Website

We hope that you are all well and staying safe. The ponies are missing you and pony riding fun at The Ranch. Whilst we can’t ride, we have been busy creating a new free website for you, called Shetland Pony Club Online, to keep you in touch with the ponies.

What is Shetland Pony Club Online?

It is a new fun website full of pony videos, learning and activities for you to enjoy at home.  There is even a section for parents.
In the Shetland Pony Club Online website you will find:

  • Getting Started – pony news, reward chart and certificates
  • Pony Learning – child-safe videos and quizzes to learn about ponies
  • Pony Fun Online – pony painting, word searches and quizzes

Shetland Pony Club Online is our way of helping you get through these unusual times. It enables you and your children to have pony fun and learning that you would normally have had at The Ranch.

How to make a simple Shetland pony handprint

Thank you to our many loyal followers from all over the world as well as members, customers and staff for your kind messages now that The Ranch is closed due to the coronavirus. We hope that you are all safe. The ponies are well and missing you this spring.

This week, as well as updating you on the ponies, Lucy and Amy are bringing you another “Crafty Shetland Pony” idea.  It shows you how to make a simple Shetland pony handprint, which you can do at home.

Simple Shetland pony handprint

You will need:

  • Sheet of paper
  • Paper plate
  • 1 small and 1 big paintbrush
  • Brown paint
  • Green pencil
  • Black pen

Make sure that you ask a grown-up to help you with the paint and cleaning your hands and the craft area.
