There’s a Shetland pony graduation taking place at The Ranch this week and Crème Brulee is getting ready for it. He is helping the celebrations for Madeleine, who has been caring for him and photographing him for 10 years.
Face of Amazon Pets
Crème Brulee is so successful due to Madeleine’s amazing photographs, with his own Instagram page, that he won the Face of Amazon Pets competition. Being used to the limelight, Crème Brulee is helping Madeleine celebrate her degree as her ceremony was cancelled due to the coronavirus.
Surprise Graduation Ceremony
With all the team and Shetland ponies to cheer her on, Crème Brulee led the Graduation Ceremony for Maddie. Well done to our star biochemist!

We are adding more Shetland Pony Day Camp places for all future Camp dates for children from age 5+. Please contact the office and let us know your child’s age if you would like to book. We can make sure there is a suitable pony for your child to ride and book you in for pony fun all day long!

Shetland Pony Club is proud to be one of the first riding schools in the country to be awarded the Association of British Riding Schools Certification for COVID-19 Safe Working Practices. Having risk-assessed our riding in the light of the government guidelines, we have changed the age for riding to a minimum of 4 years old, until further notice.
For children aged 2.5 – 4, we hope to be able to resume riding soon. Keep an eye on our weekly email, social media and the website here for more information.

We have a full programme of pony riding for one week for October Half Term from Sat 26 October to Sun 3 November, including our famous Halloween Pumpkin Rides. Do book ahead for:
Pony Mornings – are 2 hours long and are delightful early riding and learning experiences for children from age 4 years old. Children enjoy both riding and pony care. They cost £55 per child.
Starter Rides–are 45 minutes long and are specially designed as first riding experiences for children from age 2½ years old. They cost £40 per child.
Halloween Pumpkin Rides – come and enjoy our legendary Halloween Pumpkin Rides, themed pony treasure hunts for pony-mad witches and wizards. Enjoy 1½ hours of pony riding fun. From 4 years old, £55 per child.

This week we go behind the scenes of the Face of Amazon Pets Video. We find out how Shetland pony Crème Brulee’s adorable video was made at Shetland Pony Club.
Behind the scenes with a Shetland pony
First Crème Brulee had to be shampooed and cleaned to make him look lovely. That gorgeous flaxen mane needed to be silky and smooth, so lots of work was needed to get him ready.
Next the professional pet photographer Rachel Oates arrived. She had a long list of photos to take and Crème Brulee and his friends had to pose in lots of different locations with Maddie.
Then the film crew shot the video. It took lots of takes to get the perfect shots of Crème Brulee. For most of them he had to perform remotely, so his natural horsemanship training came in handy.
Our filming day was an amazing experience for our Instagram star, Crème Brulee, Maddie and the team at Shetland Pony Club. What a great treat to become the 2018 Face of Amazon Pets.
On the judging panel were a number of influential media stars of the pet world including Strictly Come Dancing’s star Ashley Roberts, owner of Cooper the Maltese dog.

Our Shetland Pony Creme Brulee has trotted off with the 2018 Face of Amazon Pets award, beating thousands of entries from across the UK.
Crème Brulee was chosen from thousands of pets of all shapes and sizes in a nationwide pet search. On the judging panel were a number of influential media stars of the pet world. One judge was Strictly Come Dancing’s current star, Ashley Roberts, owner of Cooper the Maltese dog.
Photoshoot for Creme Brulee
Crème Brulee was crowned the winner of the Face of Amazon Pets 2018. He received the main prize of a £1,500 Amazon Gift Card and a photoshoot with professional pet photographer Rachel Oates. Creme Brulee’s pictures will be featured on the Amazon.co.uk Pet Supplies Store this autumn.
