How fast do Shetland ponies run for fun?

At the end of a busy day, the Shetland ponies love to run for fun – but how fast can they run and who runs the fastest?

Watch Dinky speed along

Dinky is one of our smallest Shetland ponies and he can really run quickly.  See him speed out of the ranch to the pasture at the end of the day.  Wow – watch him go!

Toffee also enjoys a good gallop – enjoy seeing him lead the ponies across the hill – just for fun!  What a joy to watch, well-done ponies.

New minimum riding age of 4

Shetland Pony Club is proud to be one of the first riding schools in the country to be awarded the Association of British Riding Schools Certification for COVID-19 Safe Working Practices. Having risk-assessed our riding in the light of the government guidelines, we have changed the age for riding to a minimum of 4 years old, until further notice. For children aged 2.5 – 4, we hope to be able to resume in the spring. Keep an eye on our weekly email, social media and the website here for more information.

Take care from
