The children and ponies set out to enjoy the lovely scenery and the crisp frosty morning at the Ranch. With their Pony Share Members, the ponies have enjoyed riding throughout the changing seasons, and they are now ready for their winter holidays.

The School Trot Book– The School Trot is a beautifully illustrated children’s hardback bedtime story book, written by Rosemary, founder of Shetland Pony Club. It’s all about her very first Shetland pony, Billyboon and Camilla, who really did ride to school on a Shetland Pony. This book is a perfect short bedtime story and makes a lovely gift. Adopt a pony, Robin Hood– rescued pony at Shetland Pony Club. Receive a beautiful pony gift pack, access to Robin Hood’s own website, email updates and a voucher to visit him. Come and enjoy our Halloween Pumpkin Rides – themed pony treasure hunts for pony-mad witches and wizards. Enjoy 1½ hours of pony riding fun at the ranch, during October Half Term. Pumpkin rides start with pony dress-up Halloween style, followed by a ride through the meadows to our pumpkin candy trail. There are special rosettes for all riders. Suitable for children aged 4 – 10 years. £75/child.
Starter Rides are 45 mins long and specially designed first riding experiences for children. Includes pony grooming and a ride on their own pony. Followed by a certificate presentation. £50 per child. Each child will have their own pony and helper. Please note your child MUST be 3 years old at the time of their ride.

We are often asked how Shetland Pony Club began. This week, for our 15th birthday, Rosemary shares the story of how the idea for a Ranch full of adorable Shetland ponies was born.
How Shetland Pony Club began
Many years ago, the children had an adorable Shetland pony called Billy, who they rode everywhere, including to school. Billy was a special pony and the children had so much fun caring for him, riding him and loving him.
Small Ponies…Big Dreams
The children had a dream that it would be wonderful to have more Shetland ponies and share their fun with others, and so in 2008 that dream became a reality. Since then, thousands of children have visited the ponies at The Ranch and enjoyed riding them and caring for them too.
15 years on, and still going strong
Some of the original Shetland ponies are still with us today. Can you recognize any of them in the video? Our adorable Shetland ponies have a home for life with us, and they love to meet new children who want to ride.

Our first sunset charity walk with the Shetland Ponies is finally here. The ponies are surprised to be going out in the evening. Let’s find out how they get on in this week’s video.
Guests arrive
With so many guests supporting our first-ever Sunset charity walk with the Shetland ponies, all 21 ponies join in and help us support Cancer Research UK.

There’s a few simple rules to learn about brushing and walking with the ponies, then we are off around the meadows.
Wildflowers and pony walking
Everyone does really well walking with their ponies and the weather is balmy and warm. We stroll through the wildflower meadows and finish in the long grass on Sunset Ridge to enjoy drinks and nibbles – just a perfect summer’s evening.
