How to have a well-behaved Shetland Pony
Join Rosemary in this week’s video to learn how to have a well-behaved Shetland Pony.
People are often amazed how well-behaved our ponies are. It’s important that we have suitable ponies for children so they can have a safe and enjoyable time. Here are Rosemary’s top tips on how to have a well-behaved pony:
- Do not overfeed
- Regular exercise
- Suitable companions in their field, so they feel safe and happy in the herd
- Lots of rest and sleep between work
- Kindness, gentleness, and patience, to take the time to teach him properly what you want him to do
- If your pony is not behaving well, he may be uncomfortable and may need to see the Vet or Equine dentist
