How to make your Shetland Pony love you

In this week’s video we look at all the things Shetland ponies like to make them happy.

How to make your Shetland Pony love you

To build love, ponies need to see you often, so that they get to know you and to trust you.

Look after ponies with care

If you bring them water, feed and kindness, they will look forward to seeing you each week. If you take care of them by grooming and being with them, they will learn to love you. Shetland ponies love going for adventures and having fun together, so regular riding is a good way to build trust and love.

Be fun and friendly with your pony

Shetland ponies love company, so riding out with friends is a good way to start building a lasting relationship. Shetland ponies respond to fun, food and friends. They feel safe in a herd or group of ponies and enjoy going on adventures together with their friends. Shetland ponies are very intelligent and can easily recognise if you are going to be a fun friend to go riding with.

Make a friend for life

Once you have gained their trust they will be your friend for life. Our Pony Share Membership is a great way to build a bond with your favourite ponies. If you are interested you can find more details and join the waiting list here.

Shetland Pony Party on Zoom

What next – a Shetland Pony Party on Zoom!

The ponies have been missing you during lockdown and know that you miss them too.  We’ve been using lots of ways to bring the ponies to you, so you can still enjoy them virtually.

Shetland Pony Party on Zoom with Hector Moonbeam

This week, Hector Moonbeam shared the love of Shetland ponies virtually, when he joined a Pony Party on Zoom. Adorable Hector met the children online, as they could not visit for the birthday party.

Join him as he gets ready, and find out how he gets on.
