Come on ponies, we have lots of enthusiastic cub scouts coming to visit the Shetland ponies this evening.
Enthusiastic cub scouts visit the Shetland ponies
The cub scouts are learning to lead the Shetland ponies around the meadows at Shetland Pony Club. Let’s join them as they set off.
Team Gordon is doing really well at the front, and Elgin Sunset is also enjoying being led by his team of cub scout leaders.
Shetland pony traffic jam ahead!
Oh no, what’s happening – there’s a Shetland pony traffic jam. Which pony has stopped to have a snack of grass? Can you spot any other ponies having a break too?
Enthusiastic cub scouts clear up the paddock
The ponies are safely back in The Ranch and now it’s time to do some jobs. The cub scout team should be good at clearing up the paddock. Find out how they get on.
To find out if we have a suitable pony for your child, please email us with your child’s name and date of birth and their camp day availability to: info@shetlandponyclub.co.uk
Pause for a pony: relax for 3 minutes of calm, ASMR
Did you know that the sound of ponies eating is very calming and the sound that they make can help you relax.
It’s actually got a scientific name: Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, or ASMR for short, and it’s the feeling of relaxation that is felt after listening to certain trigger calming sounds, like ponies munching grass.
So, this week, our gift to you is to sit back and relax for 3 minutes of calm. Pause for a pony and melt your stress away in these difficult lockdown times.
We plan to reopen on Saturday 6 March 2021, (lockdown dependant).
Gift Vouchers are available to buy as e-vouchers and hard copy here. £40 – £125 plus post and packing. E-vouchers are available for instant downloading.
Our Shetland Pony Share Membership has been a great success this season, despite lockdown. Our members get priority every week to visit, ride their ponies and enjoy being outside in nature.
What is Shetland Pony Share Membership?
It’s an easy way to experience having a pony of your own. Learn to ride, build a bond with your pony, come regularly to our club and enjoy pony fun in the countryside.
There are two types of Shetland Pony Share Membership to enjoy from March – end November:
Pony Membership – a pony of your own each week, 2 hours, from age 4+
Mini Membership – a pony of your own each week, 45 minutes, from age 4+* (*Covid-19 age restriction)
How can I become a Shetland Pony Share Member?
Membership is very popular, with priority given to existing members, so we have a waiting list of children hoping to ride each week with us in 2021. There is still just time to join the waiting list for 2021. You can do this by contacting us on: 07734 950 309 or email: info@shetlandponyclub.co.uk
The waiting list closes on Monday 30 November 2020, and then it’s time to choose the ponies for the children on our waiting list for next year.
A pony for Christmas
Each new Pony Share Member receives a special pony pack in time to give them “a pony for Christmas”, with riding from March – November 2021

It’s time for Moon Daisy fun in the wildflower meadows because the moon daisies are in bloom at Shetland Pony Club.

Shetland Pony Puppets in the wildflower meadows
In this week’s craft video, Lucy and Amy show you how to make your own Shetland Pony Puppet, with a paper wildflower meadow for him to play in.
We hope you have fun making and playing with your Shetland Pony Puppets and would love to see some photos of your creations. Email them in to: info@shetlandponyclub.co.uk and we will upload them into the craft gallery for you in the new Shetland Pony Club Online website – sign up below.
