Toby the Shetland Pony’s Retirement Party

It was Shetland pony Toby’s retirement party this week at the Ranch.   Toby is 30 years old and has been enjoying taking young children riding at Shetland Pony Club for 10 years.

How did Toby get ready for his party?

Toby wanted to look good for his party.  Find out how the children helped him get ready. See what happened at his party.  Was Toby’s party a bit like a party that children might have?  Did he enjoy his party?

What is Toby going to do now he is retired?

Toby will still live at the Ranch with all the other Shetland ponies.  He will enjoy their company and be available for brushing, but he won’t be available for riding any more.   Toby will have a well-earned rest. Well done Toby!

Book now for summer pony riding – we are now open in the week too!

We are daily open from 15 July – end August for pony fun! (except Fridays when the ponies rest)  You can enjoy:

Starter Rides – are 45 minutes long and are specially designed as first riding experiences for children from age 2½ years old. They cost £40 per child.

  • Extra weekend Starter Rides available on Sun 21 & 28 July and Sat 3 August

Pony Mornings – are 2 hours long and are delightful early riding and learning experiences for children from age 4 years old. Children enjoy both riding and pony care. They cost £55 per child.

  • Extra Pony Mornings available on Sun 21 July

Summer pony camp days and weeks – enjoy the whole day with your favourite Shetland pony. Learn to ride him, look after him and enjoy being with him, all day long. 9.30am – 4pm, summer holidays only. Age 5+. £125 per day or £500 per week.

Toby the Shetland pony’s Halloween Prank

Toby the Shetland pony is up to no good at the ranch.  He is our oldest Shetland pony. So, he knows a thing or two about Halloween and how to play tricks on the other Shetland ponies.

Whilst the other Shetland ponies are playing in the moonlight, Toby the Shetland pony has a plan to play a spooky Halloween trick on his friends!
