Shetland Pony Club’s adopt a pony scheme that lets you love and learn about Shetland ponies. You can adopt our rescued Shetland Pony, Robin Hood, learn all about him and show you care. All the proceeds of your adoption will go to support other ponies in need.
When you adopt Robin Hood you’ll receive our beautiful adoption pack which makes a perfect pony gift for anyone who loves ponies. You’ll also receive quarterly email updates and immediate access to Robin Hood’s own website. It’s full of things to learn and do and is appropriate for children of all ages. You can also organise to visit Robin Hood at his home in the Surrey countryside.
Adopting Robin Hood is a simple way for you to support our charitable work with ponies. The funds raised go directly to give a better life to more ponies by supporting our chosen charity, The Horse Trust.
Robin Hood’s Story
Robin Hood was rescued and brought to Shetland Pony Club where he has thrived with proper care. He is now in good health and lives with his friends at the Shetland Pony Club ranch. He loves being part of the herd and being well cared for. Although Robin Hood can’t be ridden, he loves to join in the fun, and is a regular visitor to local fetes and events

Your annual Robin Hood pony adoption pack includes:
- Robin Hood pony pack – including a welcome letter, Robin Hood certificate, beautiful Robin Hood rosette, a hand painted framed picture of Robin Hood, adorable Robin Hood stickers, a Robin Hood fact pack – posted to you
- Quarterly email update about Robin Hood
- Access to Robin Hood’s adopt a pony website with videos all about him, photos to download, craft videos and Shetland pony colouring. The website is suitable for children of all ages.
- Opportunity to visit Robin Hood – by appointment at our ranch in Cobham, Surrey, UK
How much does adopt a pony cost?
To adopt Robin Hood costs just £35 per year, plus post and packing
Where does the money go to?
All the proceeds from your adoption directly to support the welfare of ponies. We pay to look after Robin Hood, so that 100% of the proceeds from your pony adoption go directly to supporting our chosen charity, which currently is The Horse Trust
Are you a charity?
Whilst Shetland Pony Club limited is not a charity we are passionate about Shetland ponies and want to support ponies in need. We have rescued several Shetland ponies including Cupcake who lived with us until he was over 30 years old, and now Robin Hood. We also gave a forever retirement home to Shetland pony Falkland, an Army Mascot pony for 26 years. Through our work and love of ponies, we want to give a better life to more Shetland ponies by supporting established horse charities

Can I come and visit Robin Hood?
Yes – you can come by appointment only to visit Robin Hood and meet him in person. Your pack will have details of how to organise your visit
What if I want to cancel my pony adoption?
You can cancel your pony adoption at any time and we never share your data with other charities.
Can I adopt Robin Hood now?
UK Adoption – £35 plus £2.50 post and packaging
International Adoption – £35 plus £10.00 post and packaging

We will post you your Robin Hood adoption pack, which makes a lovely gift. Your password to Robin Hood’s own website will be sent to your e mail so you can get started having fun immediately. We will email you four times a year with updates about Robin Hood, to keep you in touch with your adopted pony.
