About Shetland Pony Club

We are an award-winning childrens riding school in Cobham, Surrey, specialising in first pony experiences with Shetland ponies for children. It’s educational and fun and is a great way to introduce your children to ponies and learning in the great outdoors. We have a 5 star animal welfare licence, have DBS checks, child safeguarding and first aid training and have been making pony dreams come true for 18 years.

What you will learn and experience at the club

At our ABRS+ approved riding school, Shetland Pony Club, you will learn how to care for real Shetland ponies in the delightful Surrey Countryside in Cobham – just opposite Parkside School

Typical activities at Parkside Pony Club

Each week you will learn and practice a new pony skill such as:

  • Pony brushing
  • Picking out hooves
  • Putting on a headcollar
  • Cleaning tack
  • Pony washing
  • Paddock care
  • Pony feeding
  • Pony types and breeds
  • Points of the horse
  • Saddles and bridles
  • Checking if a pony is healthy
  • Note this is a pony care only club – THERE IS NO RIDING

  • 3:15pm – 4:00pm

Where is Parkside Pony Club held?

Shetland Pony Club is almost opposite the entrance to Parkside School, off Stoke Road in Cobham, Surrey, on Bluebell Lane, KT11 3PW.  Pupils will be escorted to the club with a member of Parkside School staff.

Does my child need special clothes or equipment?

No, just outdoor clothes suitable for the weather are fine. The club is non – ridden, but children will wear hats when learning to care for the ponies.  Hats are provided by Shetland Pony Club.

How do I join Parkside Pony Club?
